The journey of cultivated turf.

The journey of cultivated turf.

Grow from seed.

Below is the journey of cultivated turf grown somewhere in Eastern England to a local garden we saw a lawn being "installed".

If common sense had anything to do with it, the journey wouldn't need to take place at all.

After all, we buy in grown cultivated turf when growing grass is something we can all quite easily, if we're a little patient.

But common sense does not prevail.

Instead cultivated turf has to travel miles. The garden it is to go in requires loads of preparation.

It's no wonder most of us put up with the lawn we have, when there is a better lawn to be had if we just grow one.

In contrast, a lawn grown in your garden, travels no distance.

If it grows well, it's a very happy lawn, with the right grass type being grown, and if it doesn't too well, you can bet there is a better grass type you need to introduce.

A lawn grown from seed in your garden, is YOUR lawn, like really YOURS. A lawn that matches, and is grown for the use you want of it.

That we think is such different thinking.

And, this is a really odd thing, it costs, a lawn grown in your garden, a fraction of having a lawn "installed" from somewhere in the UK.

Now that's what we call at All Gardening FUBAR.
